c. 1946 Five string Bacon Belmont Banjo by Gretsch.

This vintage banjo features a pearloid fretboard with unique native inlays. Pealoid is constructed of celluloid plastic laminate that is made to look like mother of pearl.

After losing his banjo factory in Connecticut to a hurricane Fred Bacon went into business with Gretsch, who not long after purchased the Bacon name in 1940.

This Bacon Belmont banjo was produced by Gretsch between 1946 and 1950 for Montgomery Ward, the original purchase of this banjo included both a pick and instruction booklet.

The sale of this particular banjo includes vintage NOS dunlop picks, metal picks, and bell brand silver toned strings as well as its case.
