This vintage Toledo 'Conservo' steam canner is constructed of heavy tin. It was designed to fit over one single burner on any type of range. The copper bottom holds several quarts of water providing steam. A tube would be inserted through the hole in the upper corner of the Conservo, whistling whenever water needed to be added. This Conservo can fit twelve jars inside upon its shelves. The overall dimensions of this item measure 13" in width, 12" in depth with a standing height of 23".
