This antique point of sale sign was produced by Dutchess Trousers c. 1900. The tin sign is mounted to a wooden stand, which likely would have been displayed on a countertop near a registry. The sign measures 10.5" x 3" x 5".
The trouser company was created by J. Frank Hull in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. These trousers were created for the working man and were touted as being long-lasting and of high quality -- hence the company guarantee slogan of "10 cents a button; $1 a rip."
