This butchers rack was constructed c. 1873 by the Bernard Gloekler Co. of Pittsburgh, PA. These were the centerpiece of the butcher shop. This is one of the most ornate models Gloekler made with an adjustable frame and curved meat holders. In our photos, you will notice the collection of knives, cleavers, and lamb splitters arranged on the racks. The rack is held onto the wall by 12 separate screws where the joints meet the wall.
The topper displays a cleaver, knife, and saw with a cast cattle finial. Exceptionally rare is each piece of this rack, rarer still is one so complete.
The overall dimensions of this rack are roughly 74"W x 60"H and it sticks out 13" from the wall.
This rack is being sold BARE and WITHOUT THE KNIVES. If you would like to purchase the collection of knives separate arrangements can be made.
