This stool was produced by the Hallowell Standard Pressed Steel Company of Jenkintown, PA likely sometime in the early 1930s. The stool features a corkscrew design for lowering and raising the seat. A makers mark on the bottom of the stool indicates its origin, and that it was manufactured for RCA. Howard Hallowell's company began producing steel furniture in the 1920s after attaining great success manufacturing industrial pulleys. Beginning in 1930, they introduced "just in time" manufacturing for their friends in the radio business.

The chair measures 19"W at the base and is 26" in height at a maximum. The minimum height is approximately 22". This stool has been photographed the accompanying chair that is sold separately. Please contact us if you would like to buy both of them together.
