This display case was manufactured by Key City Furniture Company of Dubuque, Iowa. Valentine Herancourt established the first furniture manufacturing company in Dubuque around 1845. Upon his retirement, fellow German immigrant Herman Mauer took over as president of the newly-named Key City Furniture, officially opening on February 18, 1880.

Key City Furniture Company of manufactured wood furniture, store fixtures, cigar cases, show cases and counters like this one offered here. This piece comes from the turn of the century, before 1911 when the company experienced a massive fire and moved locations.

Overall, this case measures 59" W x 27" D x 43" H. The bottom shelf measures 55" W x 22" D x 20" H, and the top shelf measures 55" W x 22" D x 14" H.
