This 8" Crosby Improved Pressure Gauge comes from Crosby Steam Gauge & Valve Co. out of Boston, Massachusetts. The company was established in 1874 and was as a leader in locomotive and steam engine gauges. By the start of the 1900s, Crosby had stores in Boston, New York, Chicago, and London. This artifact includes advertising for National Tube Works Company (est. 1872) of McKeesport, Pennsylvania advertising expansion to Chicago, Illinois. In 1899, National Tube Works Company was consolidated with 20 other pipe-making manufactures to form the National Tube Company.
The gauge measures 8" in diameter.
