This rare antique advertising sign was produced by J. S. Fry & Sons, Ltd., a popular chocolate manufacturing company of Bristol, England. The company was originally established in 1761 under the name "Fry, Vaughan & Co.," but was renamed in 1822 to the more widely recognized "J. S. Fry & Sons" (or simply "Fry's"). Fry's enjoyed a great deal of success in the UK until it eventually merged with Cadbury Brothers in 1919. This particular advertising sign features the distinctive image of a boy experiencing the five stages of desperation, pacification, expectation, acclamation, and realization. It measures 18" wide x 12" high. TA - 104614 - 06.20.22
