This was obviously made by someone to carry their tools. This antique carpenters tool box has a lid with a lock hasp. The lid was likely used to store saws, there are posts with rotating parts to hold something in place, and a long divided drawer is freed up inside when the lid is open. The drawer has two areas measuring 13.5" L x 2 1/8" W x 3 1/8" D. The chest is 6" T x 30"L x 18"D. Note that there is no longer a handle where there once was and slight damage to one of the corners.
