Vintage ROG Guild Opticians Sign
c. 1940s; Guild of Prescription Opticians of America - Philadelphia
Reverse painted ophthalmologist sign. The "Guild" refers to a collective of opticians around the United States who held themselves to what they considered a "higher standard" than other eye care professionals. See attached photo for more info regarding this Guild.
This sign would have been prominently displayed in the window/entry way of the medical office of one of these Guild Opticians.
The circular sign features gold-colored lettering and a stylized ℞ logo against a black field. It exhibits minor signs of wear including chips on the black field.

Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING

Please note that buyers are responsible for the shipping costs of all items that are too large to ship parcel. Moreover, all shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the responsibility for the shipment passes to the buyer the moment the shipment leaves our dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
